Welcome to Europe!

New match-making support for EU and Japanese companies

Incoming missions welcoming delegations of Japanese companies and organisations to the EU

From 2015, the EU-Japan Centre – in cooperation with its Enterprise Europe Network partners (a network of +600 support organisations in the EU and the rest of the world) – is planning to co-organise incoming missions which will welcome delegations of Japanese companies and organisations to different regions of the European Union.

The objectives of these missions are to:

  • Provide EU SMEs with the opportunity of welcoming a Japanese delegation and to showcase their technologies
  • Foster partnership opportunities between EU SMEs from specific regions (supported by EEN partners) and Japanese companies and organisations.

These missions will target sectors in which stakeholders from EU regions (i.e. companies, R&D Centres, clusters etc.) possess state-of-the-art expertise and which are also of interest to Japanese stakeholders (i.e. companies and R&D centres, clusters etc.) in order to foster business and technology transfer-related partnerships.

Through close cooperation with the local Enterprise Europe Network partners and the way in which these missions will be set up, the Centre hopes to show Japanese participants the potential of various European regions and to introduce them to potential future partners.

Programme content

The incoming missions will consist of:

- Group visits to companies and research centres in the region
- Individual presentations
- Individual B2B meetings
- Side events such as a networking dinner etc. (not mandatory)
