Invitation to the NEDO Supply Chain Data Challenge
The NEDO Supply Chain Data Challenge, a competition by the Japanese Government with a first prize of 10 million JPY (74K Euro), is now open.
Entry application submission deadline: 17 May 2022
NEDO, or New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan, is inviting corporations, individuals, and groups to submit ideas and systems that contribute to the development of supply chain monitoring and management by combining various types of information, including satellite images and other mobile data. Innovative and outstanding solutions will be awarded by NEDO.
This project consists of an “Idea Contest” and a “System Development” part covering 3 themes.
Idea Contest
- Ideas for technologies and solutions how the use of satellite data and other resources enable to solve problems in Supply chain management
System Development
- Supply chain impact estimation and visualization in case of “Congestion of container logistics at Ports”
- Supply chain impact estimation and visualization in case of “disasters such as large-scale windstorms and floods”
The Idea Contest for proposals of technologies and solutions will greatly expand the potential for satellite data applications in solving social issues related to the supply chain, and the System Development for test implementations.
NEDO will provide satellite imagery, mobile GPS information, and geospatial and statistical information via “Tellus,” a satellite image data platform (https://www.tellusxdp.com/en-us ). Participants could open up integrated data analysis and application development and demonstrate business development possibilities.

Sustainable Foodtech Solutions 2022
EEN partner ZENIT GmbH is organizing a physical B2B event alongside the Anuga FoodTec 2022 fair (https://www.anugafoodtec.com), the leading global trade fair in food and beverage industry held in Cologne, Germany.
Target sectors: It covers all aspects of food production - from process technology to filling and packaging technology, from packaging materials to ingredients and food safety, as well as all innovations from all areas of food production.

Japanese Food and Beverage Days 2022
The EU-Japan Centre is organizing the second “Japanese Food and Beverage Days” online matching event for European companies interested in Japanese food and beverages.
Over a one-week period from 15-18 February 2021, EU participants will be able to discuss with Japanese suppliers. The B2B platform includes an integrated messaging and video call meeting function, and buyers will benefit from a dedicated support by a bilingual team and personal interpreters for all their meetings if necessary. Participation is free of charge.
Eligibility
Participants must be importers, distributors wholesalers or retailers in the EU interested in selling Japanese food or beverages, or must be a manufacturing or sales company based in Japan in the food and beverages field. (Individuals are not eligible to apply). Registrants will be assessed before being validated.
